1. Air filter

Location: It is located in the engine compartment, usually in the air filter case (air filter box) on the left or right side.

Examples of typical vehicle models:

Benz A200L: The filter is on the right side of the engine compartment. The air filter box cover needs to be disassembled for replacement of the filter.

Benz E-class: The filter is at the front or side of the engine compartment, and the box is marked with an "AIR FILTER" logo.

Operation prompt: Use a tool (such as a screwdriver) to loosen the fixing buckle or nut by following the filter element direction indicated by the arrow.

2. Oil filter

Location: The filter is inside the engine compartment or under the chassis, and its specific location varies depending on the engine layout:

Transverse engines (e.g., some C-class and GLC models): at the front or bottom of the engine.

Longitudinal engines (e.g., E-class and S-class models): on the side close to the firewall. One some models, the engine guard needs to be removed to replace the filter.

Replacement difficulty level: Professional tools (such as oil filter wrench) and lifting equipment are required for replacement. It is recommended that replacement should be completed by professional technicians.

3. Air conditioning filter

External filter:

Position: inside the engine compartment, under the air intake at the front edge of the windshield, covered by a plastic plate.

Examples of models: GLC 260, GLE, etc. The cover plate usually bear a “Cabin Filter” mark.

Built-in filter:

Position: behind the glove compartment of the front passenger seat or above the footwell:

Behind the glove compartment: The glove compartment needs to be removed for replacement of the filter (for some vehicles, it may necessary to untighten screws or pry loose buckles).

Footwell: Taking Benz GLE as an example, the filter is located on top of the foot space of the front passenger seat, and the interior cover plate needs to be detached for replacement of the filter.

Operation prompt:

Benz GLK/GLC: Remove the cover plate under the glove compartment → remove the metal buckle → Slide the lock buckle to remove the filter element.

Benz C-class: It may lie beneath the dashboard, and in this case the glove compartment assembly needs to be removed for placement of the filter.
