How long is the service life of window lifters?

08-27,2025

The service life of window lifters is typically between 5 and 10 years or between 100,000 and 150,000 kilometers of mileage. The specific service life of a window lifter is dependent on different factors such as operation frequency, maintenance results, product quality, and use environment.

Factors affecting the service life of a window lifter:

Operation frequency: Frequent operations can accelerate wear.

Maintenance results: Lubricating guide rails and cleaning mechanical components of a window lifter helps extend its service life.

Component quality: High-quality original lifters are generally more durable.

Environmental conditions: Damp, dusty, saline or alkaline environments can accelerate corrosion and damage.

How to extend the service life of a window lifter effectively?

Good use habits: Release the switch of the window lifter after the window reaches the top or bottom, and avoid pressing it for long.

Keep the window guide rails clean and well lubricated: Regularly (once or twice a year) spray window rubber protectant or silicone lubricant on the sealing strips to keep them soft and elastic, thus greatly reducing lifting resistance. Do not use Vaseline or engine oil as they can accelerate rubber aging.

Avoid use in freezing conditions: After washing the car or cleaning snow in winter, first make sure that the windows and rubber strips are not frozen before attempting to lift or lower them. You can first open the doors and allow warm air to be blown towards the windows for a while.

Clean the interior of the car doors in a timely manner: If the windows often get stuck, foreign objects such as leaves and dust may have entered the grooves of the lifting guide rails, and professional cleaning is required.

Eliminate abnormal sounds and perform timely maintenance: If any abnormal sounds are heard, especially clanking sounds, inspection should be performed immediately to avoid minor problems from evolving into major failures.

How to determine if a window lifter needs to be replaced?

The window lifting speed becomes significantly lower than normal, or there is obvious jamming or abnormal noise.

A window cannot be fully lifted or stops halfway.

The motor is overheated, and is difficult to restore normal condition after continuous operation.

An electrical failure occurs and prevents normal control of the switch.

DPA window lifter

Advantages of DPA window lifter:

The improved rope through-hole size, deeper holes, and thicker contact face of the guide tube lead to higher stability of DPA window lifter.

High-strength wire rope conduits are incorporated by DPA window lifter to ensure stability while achieving a longer product service life.

Higher content of glass fiber in the guide plates of DPA window lifter results in overall improvement of product ductility and strength.

The window lifter has adopted a modified product design. The guide contact angle has been increased to achieve stronger wear resistance of the guide wheels. Consequently, the service life of key parts is extended.
